Citrix launched a new mobile device management (MDM) offering based on its Zenprise acquisition, which Citrix closed at the beginning of January. With XenMobile MDM, users can self-service enroll their devices and IT can provision policies and apps to large groups of devices automatically. IT can blacklist or whitelist apps, detect and protect against jailbroken devices, and wipe or selectively wipe a device that is lost, stolen or out of compliance. The XenMobile MDM supports Android, iOS, Windows and BlackBerry mobile operating systems and devices. In addition to XenMobile MDM, Citrix unveiled a mobile products bundle for enterprise mobility management. Amit Pandey, group vice president and general manager of mobile platforms at Citrix, toldFierceMobileIT that the mobile product bundle includes the XenMobile MDM product; secure email, browser and data sharing apps; containers for security and control of mobile apps; a unified enterprise app store; and identity management and access control products. Pandey said that virtualization remains a core part of Citrix’s EMM offerings; for example the unified app store is based in its virtualization technology. “When you go to your Springboard on your iPad or iPhone, not only can you get third-part apps … but you can also get your desktop apps … Through our virtualization technology, we are able to bring that to mobile for you,” he explained. Repost – My Interview with Mich Fridman, Site Monetized “Interview with Dan, the founder of EnterpriseAdoption.com”

Interview with Dan, the founder of EnterpriseAdoption.com Thursday 21st, February 2013 Like it?  16 1. Pleasure to have you with us today. Please, explain briefly the idea behind your formula. Thank you for having me. So Im “that guy” that is shaking up the mobile enterprise world. Im not sure if I should blame my electrical engineer schooling or my entrepreneurial background but I “think differently” compared to most of the industry. Therefore I came up with an Adoption Formula and a silly tagline “Without adoption, you have nothing!” Started blogging about it, and it caught the eye of Innovi Mobile’s president. Next thing you know Im leaving south beach Miami for my birth state of NJ. 2. When did you come up with the idea of starting your Formula and why? Well mobile is going to be the hottest thing in 2013 and you can quote me on that! Then I started to think of the issues with enterprise mobility and the headaches involved. With an engineer brain and “doodler” hand, I started back forward and made flows of what factors make an app get adopted or not. Next was to read every study and report I could get my hands on. Followed by interviewing top CIOs to consumers. 3. What is the mission of your business? Now that I’m teamed up with Innovi Mobile, our mission is simple. To be the one stop shop for enterprises that need help with mobile strategy, development and management. We stress adoption and how to get there on time and in budget. As we take on the hardest and most complex projects others might be scared of. 4. I see…Where do you see your business in 5 years? Great question. We recently were asked to close the NYSE and when meeting with Duncan Niederauer, CEO of NYSE, and we told him “Keep the stock ticker APPS open for us” 5. What is this enterprise mobile adoption formula?   I don’t need to go into minutia here, but short version is 3 main aspects. Usability, Desirability and Security all equal Adoption. In those, we can plug the factors that influence it. Lets pick on Desirability. Example would be...

Big Blue increasingly sees the mobile enterprise as the equivalent of its e-business, analytics and smarter planet efforts. Not too surprisingly, IBM is wrapping software and services together to pitch its mobile wares. According to IBM, enterprises are leaving billions of dollars on the table by not transforming fast enough to take advantage of mobility. To back up its products, IBM said it will double its investment in mobile in 2013 compared to 2012. “Many customers are using mobile as a channel and business transformation needs to start internally on the back-end and then extend to the mobile experience,” said John Ponzo, CTO of mobile research for IBM, in a recent interview. “Companies also need to manage the data and have control.” Among the moving parts of MobileFirst: IBM’s MobileFirst Platform rolls up Worklight, a development tool, single sign-on and Rational testing tools for apps. MobileFirst Security scans vulnerabilities at the app level on mobile operating systems. The security tools are designed to scan and enforce policies for internal and third party mobile apps. MobileFirst Management is an update to EndPoint Manager to support bring your own device programs with additional security tools.
